Finished Sweater and Bicycle Sewing

Well I finished the sweater and I could not be happier, well I could if the sleeves were just a bit shorter but I may try and steam those to get them to shorten.

I also finished a skirt and blouse both with the bicycle theme fabric.  I love them both.  The skirt is from the book Sew Serendipity and the blouse is a Simplicity Lisette pattern.  Both were very easy and quick.  I will be making another version of the skirt for sure and the blouse I had made a long sleeve tunic version last spring.

He has been working/living there since Oct 2009 and I have been here in Kansas. We see each other about once a month. The move will officially happen next spring. I'm Back.....

I am back and just realized how long it had been since I last blogged, October!! Wow time flies!!

Lots has happened since October. My husband lost his job in February and has been looking everyday since. It has been very tough on him and I try to keep an upbeat attitude for him but pretty soon things are going to get even worse as we will run out of savings> I keep praying and know there is an answer coming soon.

On to better news, my oldest son and youngest son each graduated from college and high school!! Both graduated on the same day at the same time 600 miles away from each other!! Dad went to the oldest ones I stayed for the youngest ones. It was so cool to be able to text and send pictures back and forth, while not the same as being there I was at least kept informed. I guess the boys were texting each other during their ceremonies seeing who would receive their diploma first. Youngest one beat oldest one by 20 minutes!!

On to knitting and sewing...I finished my Bell curve skirt and love, love, love it!! I will for sure make another skirt!! I made a couple Ravenelli vests one for me and then my daughter liked it so much I had to make a second after she took off with the first one! Finished a couple of pairs of socks and have started on more socks. I have been doing the two at a time technique but not sure if I like that all that much.

Sewing I have made quite a few items, raincoat out of Anna Maria Horner oilcloth, kitchen curtains, dress (for graduation) out of Anna Maria Horner fabric, skirt and am working on a top and dress right now.

That is it for now on my way to work. Hopefully will be better at the blogging.

Blogging may not be my thing...

Wow, this blogging business takes a lot of time. With work, knitting, work, knitting oh and trying to clean the house for dinner party on Saturday I am finding time to blog?!

Let's see what have I been up to. College kids are coming home tonight!! Yeah can't wait to see my oldest son!! I have not seen him since August and I miss him. My daughter, who I love dearly, is on fall break as well, but she only goes to school 40 min away so I see her almost every weekend!! My youngest son made the State series for his cross country team, he has been working so hard, I am so proud of him.

What is on the needles, or should I say what is not on/off the needles. I am still working on my Bell Curve skirt, hope to have that done in one week! Down to the last 2inches on one of Kate's Monkey socks. Still working away on mom's Cubbie Bear socks, these were supposed to be for the World Series, so I guess I have another year for that! :(

Well need to go and clean house for this weekend and visitors! I don't know why I clean for the kids it was never clean when they lived at home :)

Why....

Why does life have to be so cruel to young kids?? Just found out that a friend of my sons has cancer and it has spread, he is only 15!!

I just can not stop thinking of the family and especially his mother. I know I would be so devestated but have to put up a strong front for my son but every night I know I would just crumple into a heap.

I knew I would not be very good at this...

I knew keeping a blog would be hard for me to keep up with but I will do my best. Finished a couple of items this weekend one sewing and one knitted. I guess the one knitted item is more like 4 knitted items since it is a baby gift for twins. Here are pictures...
